Hotel Sita (place on the heritage ghats of benaras)

Staff was extremely polite and helpful on our arrival. Though the approach to the hotel was through narrow winding lanes - in keeping with Varanasi character - situated on the ghat made it bliss: loveliest view! The effort of walking was well worth it..

If you need a hotel overlooking Ganges then this is the one. Extremely value for money. Bathrooms were clean and room was reasonable sized. However overall hotel needs a revamp, as there are plaster coming off many places. You have to go through typical narrow lanes of bananas to reach this place.

We got cheated and rs 2000 advance not refunded. No transparency for booking. We called the hotel people.. Mr manoj and enquired about walking distance. I mentioned my mother is old and can't walk, he said only 5 mins walk. But it is not so. Not at all suitable for senior Citizens...Long distance walk from main road and few uneven steps to climb down to reach hotel entrance. Once we somehow reached the hotel, Me and my mother only two ladies visiting Varanasi, so decided she can't walk and also midnight to go for temple darshan not safe for ladies to walk in that street and she can't even walk so long, we told them we don't want to check-in. Didn't even look at the room and with lot of difficulty searched another hotel Ganges Grand near the temple and we went there. Hardly 30 mins we waited in the hotel reception to call and enquire with other hotels. MR manoj was there didn't help in anyway seeing two ladies, even when I told our problem of walking to the hotel and my aged mother can't manage, enquired if any other hotel is there, no help from him. They helped to carry luggage that's it. Next day when i enquired refund mr manoj said he will enquire with accountant etc.. With lot of Follow up and after 5 days I got partial refund only. Not that their hotel was in great demand and they would have given that room to Someone. It was totally vacant and next day when i enquired mr manoj concurred. We were never told that they will withhold advance amount if we didn't occupy the room. Location is a big NO inspite of Ganga View how will we manage walking and later i read many reviews that rooms are dirty too. So good that i didn't stay here but was cheated of rs 2000 without even informing me in advance of their policy.

I strongly do not recommend this hotel or this kind of people.this experience left a bad memory of Kashi.. All other experiences of darshan and people of Banaras and hotel Ganges grand was excellent.

This hotel is awesome as far as the location is concerned. It was my second stay here and I loved it. The staff is very warm and helpful. The food is quite good.
The only problem is that the rooms aren't maintained with par to the tariff taken. I would really request the hotel owners to maintain the rooms a little better.
And with everything apart, this is the best place on the Ganges ❤️

I had a great experience with Hotel Sita. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Varanasi.Note : I don't recommend this hotel for OLD AGE or people with issues in legs as to reach the hotel you have to either walk a lot from the back side otherwise from front you have to climb stairs.The beauty of Varanasi is at a different level during the evening.

Good location, friendly staff and decent size room. It's relatively clean and provide a nice breakfast too. Price is reasonable.

The room that I stayed in has a view to River Ganga. If you are looking for a reasonably priced and decent place to stay, I would definitely recommend this place.

A well located property in Varanasi,it is just beside of Chousatti Ghat,very much near to Dasasamedh Ghat. During my stay,I met with the owner,his behaviour was so nice. Even the staff are also good and very supportive especially Mr. Singh ji, who helped us a lot to explore Varanasi. I loved the location,any one can spend their whole day by sitting on the ghats and roaming around and exploring the Ghats and temple's.

I, along with my family, went to Hotel Sita, Varanasi to look for accommodation. They said only two rooms were available, and not having any choice left we decided to go for those. After having spent a few hours, we requested them for better rooms as those alloted to us were
beyond the human accommodation limit, as the rooms were dirty, stinking washrooms with leaked and broken comod, broken floor, and stained walls. To which then said there were no rooms vacant. The very next day, one of the staff with the name Sourav Chakraborty, the goon of the hotelier, threatened me to vacate the room and shift to another one by paying more. Not just he threatened us, he was rude enough to establish the fact that he had the authority to make us leave, as the Manager went for leave. He was scary, extremely indecent, rude and a goon. We were so scared as we 3 are senior citizens, and my daughter was our biggest concern.
While booking, we had asked them as to who would help us move our luggage as their hotel is situated far from the main road, and the stairs were impossible for us to climb carrying the weight. They ensured their staff would sail us through. When we were leaving, inspite of having staff, where the son of the owner and the said goon were present, NO ONE helped us to even take our luggage to the door, forget to the main road. We 4 struggled with our luggage, more to catch our breath.
Hotel Sita is the WORST place we went to. Not just in Varanasi, but in our journey of tourism. We have always stayed in amazing places, but here we were swooned by the location, and then suffered right on our face! The hotelier has this goon Sourav Chakraborty who threatens the guests to throw them off, and also has the indulgence of the owner. Very dirty rooms, unclean washrooms, no one bothers to change or empty the dustbin, and worse is, the lock of the window and balcony do not work, making it an open threat to us from the monkeys to enter and vandalise, which we partially experienced.
I would recommend NONE to even venture, spending an hour there.
Going to bring the whole incident along with the condition of the rooms, we were put into to the higher authority, with requisite proof in the form of images and videos captured.
