Banaras Guest House

Rooms have all basic appliances, however they could be a little bit more clean.
Host is kind and always willing to help. Navi helped us to organise the rest of our trip and gave many useful tips 😁

Very good option as a stay near Assi Ghat. It's lil tough to find out initially but value for money. Rooms are spacious enough to accommodate a family and balcony is add-on. Though I faced issue with the AC but Naveen being a great host helped me to shift immediately to another room. Naveen and his brother are always ready to help you which is really appreciable. It was a great experience staying here.

The guest house is a perfect stay in Banaras. The guest house is nicely located and well connected to the city. It is only a few meters from the Assi Ghat. The rooms are clean and tidy. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful.

I went to stay there during Durga Puja this year. The room provided to us was clean and spacious. But the bath space in the bathroom was very small. The USP of this property is its location. Its a just 1 min walk from Assi Ghat where everyday morning and evening arti is performed and all the other places of visit are easy to reach. I would have given a five star if the roads for reaching the property were clean too. This is the main issue I have faced, neighbouring households throw their garbage on the way to the property which is very much unexpected. Otherwise there is no issue. Naveen has been a very good host and I wish him good luck.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Banaras Guest House. Naveen and his brother were very friendly and helpful. Even our baby daughter felt like home. Location is very good and close to Assi ghat. Definitely recommend to those visiting Banaras. We would again stay there if we get a chance to visit Banaras.

It’s very nice guesthouse, very clean, with cool graffiti on the walls. It’s comfortable place! There is a very nice rooftop with a beautiful view to the city. And very kind owner! Thank you so much!

We found this place through Airbnb and it had fairly good reviews there. I contacted the host if they had an available room and if we can check in late in the evening since we were on the road all night. He offered a different room that wasn't listed on the app. The deal was that in the morning, we would be transferred to a different room, one with its own bathroom.

We arrived there at 2 AM and we were showed a room on the ground floor. We were exhausted at this point so we took it. Simple accommodation which was fine, but the beddings were definitely not clean. It smelled like someone had been sleeping there. But it was freezing cold so we HAD to use the filthy blanket.

The room is also right next to a busy alley and the noise can be heard very clearly. Pots and pans banging, people yelling in the street.

When the sun came up, the room they promised us was still not clean so we couldn't even shower. We checked out immediately.

I do not recommend this place. Felt unsafe and unclean.

UPDATE: This host NAVEEN also messaged me after reading this review with some downright abusive language. Doubling down on his nasty behavior. Yikes.

The owners are the most helpful you will find.
Location is rite next to Assi ghat with good food nearby.
Rooms are clean and tidy with all amenities.
Great open rooftop area for relaxing and watching the sunset.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and wish I could stay longer.
I highly recommend it to anybody.
