A bit expensive (bargained to 1000 Rs/night for a double in off-season, food extra), but clean and comfortable enough, and Aunty and her family are excellent cooks. Aunty is also well connected with people in the region, and can help arrange further transport and drop you off where necessary. Don't be surprised if Aunty quotes you an absurd price for starters, she told us the room was 3000 Rs at first.

Basic hotel but very clean. Aunty's cooking is excellent. Clean room clean bath clean linens.. totally relaxing hotel. She can even arrange a guide if someone wants to know the tribe in a better way.

We (rest of Indians) need to take permit before entering Nagaland, Same will be checked at the border while entering Mon district. (no checking while entering Dimapur from Assam side)... Amazed to here a folk at border village asking us "are u coming from India" When we visited Mon without any prior bookings. Aunty's (She runs most of the stays in Mon) offered one of her place to stay. Though found bit expensive but her families hospitality override the cost part. The experience of roaming around the town was amazing. Security in this district is quite tight here due to rebel activities and cross border smuggling. Get to experience totally different lifestyle and culture compared to rest of India
