The Golf Retreat, Shillong.

The place looks amazing with the view of the golf course. Out of the main city with the trees all around

There are better hotels than this one!!! I would start with saying that hotel management did gave me a discount for the stay after lot of complains. But that doesn't mean I will not put a review!!!!

Good things first-
1/ The hotel is right next to golf course. You can actually see people play.
2/ The property is really good and new too. Clean and rooms are spacious.

Bad things:
1/ Management is bad
2/ You will feel you are staying in hostel rather than a hotel. Resturant would keep following up for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!! No food would be delivered after 8:30pm.
3/ The rooms don't have fan. The hotel management knew that the AC was not working properly, they still went ahead and allocate the room to us. After much of struggle, they managed to arrange a stand fan!!!
4/ Hot water taps were not working
5/ TV set top box were not recharged

The hotel is situated bang opposite the golf course.The room 202 where we stayed was quiet big with big windows overlooking the golf course.The bathroom was also spacious with toiletries.The room had tea maker but the electric kettle was not working properly.
The restaurant was at ground floor and appear to be popular one.The food was ok and so was the service.However the price was on a higher side.
The checkin was smooth.
The negatives-The restaurant closes at 8pm.Last order is at 7.30 pm.
During the night there was load shedding from 1.30 am to 4am.No generator connection or inverter connection.I had to struggle to get the mobile and use it as a torch to go to the bathroom.You can well understand how problematic will it be for a senior citizen to go to bathroom in pitch darkness.
Basement garage is available for parking.

This is an amazing place, deluxe rooms are a better option than super deluxe. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Special mention to Rafael, she took care of the food instructions we had with a smiling face.

The golf retreat becomes a warm, comfortable as well as beautiful stay choice for someone visiting Shillong. Clean rooms, green lush view and great service make it the most appropriate option. The highlight of our stay has to be Rahul, who relentlessly helped us through his services and hosted us.

Unique location just opp a big golf course and nearby to all the visiting spots. Staff was helpful, food was good. Rooms were clean and hot water 24*7.

This place is perfect. Very very clean, huge rooms. Heaters and radiators working.
