Hotel Grand Barrack

It's very near to the Khandwa railway station almost about a kilometre away from the railway station and bus stand. It's located in a peaceful locality away from the hustle and bustle of market. Main market is situated in walking distance. The hotel is in an old building probably of British era, so it gives you a feel of vintage hotel. Rooms are spacious and as it's an old building so roof is very high which makes room well ventilated and well lit even bathroom was very spacious. But rooms require maintenance as switchs were broken and paint of room was peeling out. Yet rooms were clean and room service was prompt. They also have a restaurant and food tastes great although only vegetarian food is available but it tastes great. Staff was helpful and trained.

The hotel even though in the heart of city and located strategically near the railway station, has a very peaceful and quiet ambience, far from the maddening crowd. The rates are very reasonable. Especially for families with small kids, it's a very decent place because there is an area dedicated to kids with swings and I could see kids thoroughly enjoying their stay. With little renovation, this property can be transformed into a very decent heritage hotel.

Good comfortable stay for a night or two in Khandwa. The structure is magnificent, probably 160+ years old as claimed by the host. Somehow while trying to convert the old military barrack into a hotel, they got stuck midway. I think it would have been better if they had given the interiors either a raw traditional look or an ultra modern look. The walkthrough sort-of wardrobe / wash-basin beside the washroom is quite unique. Non-vegetarians please note they serve only vegetarian food and you are allowed to carry / have outside food. AC is window type, so expect associated typical issues. On the whole, however it was a good experience.

I booked the room online, they offered me a room but the bedsheets and pillow covers are little dusty and dirty which disappointed me. Besides this everything was fine.

we experienced a good and comfortable stay

it's good experience, water is leaking continuously from the bathroom tap.that has to be corrected.

The hotel is very basic. The only interesting fact is that they are in a heritage building which was a military barracks during british time. And the cafe here has a good ambient feel. The feel of the heritage it has can be better restored and the services can also be much improved with little improvements and upgradation.

The hotel is cheap if you are searching under budget stay.

This is good place to stay. It is near to the Railway station. Room quality and service is good. There is a coffee cafe which is looking good. This rating may be not good for some people.
