The Oberoi Cecil, Shimla

I stayed here for 2 nights and I have never had a better experience with any other hotel in the world. The staff and their hospitality is absolutely heartwarming. The rooms are super spacious with a breathtaking view. I really couldn’t have asked for more. This is the best property in Shimla, even better than Wildflower Hall. Its location and above all the people at the Cecil are lovely and family. I will definitely come here again in a few years.

Went to have some girlie time with my daughter. Nice place, good location and great ambience. The room we stayed in was well appointed and had a wonderful view of the mountains. Breakfast was included. It had a great array of choices in the buffet and you also have the choice of ordering certain dishes. As my daughter was a returning guest, Chef Raj personally came to meet her, it was very touching, he also recommended the blueberry pancakes which we truly very tasty.The other staff embers in the kitchen were also very warm and attentive. Special mention of Rohit who made us feel so welcome and went out of his way to see that we are served well.
A lot of activities were lined up for the children. Was busy seeing the city so didn't spend much time in spas and swimming.

Usually you'll find people going Ga-Ga over this hotel primarily because of its aesthetic looks, feel ,verve and ambience,but let me caution you in no uncertain terms that DO NOT plan to dine in here you'll be badly disappointed. We were walk-in guest and residents and wanted to have a fine dining experience at one of Shimla s prime properties..Alas it turned out to be a bitter experience left a lasting bad ok impression.. we ordered mutton,club sandwiches and brownie.. Mutton portion quantity is so less that they serve you Dal and Aloo-matter (both cold) without even asking and portion of breads (as they say complimentary) . For club sandwiches ..these were disgustingly pathetic ..stale bread and dried tasteless bacon ...I swear any run of the mill Baker here in Chandigarh would make a much much better club sandwich at half the price . We paid close to 5 grands for this insipid food . Many other guests too were not pleased with quality and quantity and staff were helplessly try to mollify them with hung heads . Plain ans simple enjoy the visit it's a remarkably beautiful property but do not dine .

A very nice property and the location is perfect. Mall road is at walking distance of around few kilometres but still manageable. They arrange a transportation also till mall road on need basis. Interior swimming pool is also heated and well maintained. Staff is also very courteous and polite. Rooms are great and the upper category rooms provides a great view of the valley also. Highly recommended.

It was a great stay at The Oberoi Ceicel. Amazing hospitality with each n every person ready to welcome and help you with folded hands 🙏. So courteous and humble, each and every member of the staff...from bottom to top in the hierarchy that would give you fond memories for lifetime and some lessons for life too...being courteous, humble, polite and generous enough that they don't charge anything for the baby food or milk. It was a great experience to enjoy in the indoor temperature controlled swimming pool.
Cleanliness and maintenance are out of the world. Even a spec of dust isn't visible on anything. Loved this place ❤️ wifi is available for the room and can be used on 8 devices in parallel. Despite the fact that some people miss an open area for basking in the sun, I would give 5 stars to this place. I haven't heard the word 'no' from anyone, but it was always...'certainly' 'sure' 'shall be done' 'here you go!'

Great stay I had with family at Oberoi Cecil Shimla. Very impressive hotel structure and specially rooms. Food was awesome and staff were very kind, accommodative and courteous. Centrally heated facility and very quite.

Oberoi have an amazing property here in Shimla. It is unique and full of character and charm. However (and you knew that was coming) it is let down by the Restaurant staff. I am not sure it is a lack of training of the incumbents, but you just don't get what you ask for in a timely manner! Come on Oberoi, I know you have wherewith all!

There’s great service and then there are those who outdo even the exceptional!

And at Cecil each member lives this to the fullest. Par excellence when it comes to taking care of guests.
