I prefer to give a five star rating to the hotel for its excellent location, serene atmosphere, cleanliness and overall staff behaviour but a few things to be mentioned here is that the front office staff needs to be taught politeness and she should explain the regulations to the guests which are not mentioned in the booking voucher.Overall a pleasant stay

Good things first:
The hotel is situated in a serene location and the place is very calm, thanks to the beautiful place that Haflong is and also because of the fact that we were the only guests there. All rooms have balconies.
Secondly, the food served here is quite good. We particularly liked their chicken butter masala.
The room boys are very helpful too.

Now to the stuff that made me to give the place a bad rating.
It claims itself to be a 3-star hotel and charges exorbitant prices for the rooms. The rooms or their service isn't worth even half the rate. It is a pretty old building and the rooms we were alloted were damp and smelling of cleaning lotions. The refrigerator had cocroaches inside them. The doors, locks and some of the lights weren't functioning properly and needed maintenance. There weren't sufficient toiletries inside the bathroom, to meet the standards of a 3-star hotel. In short, the whole place requires maintenance. The common use bathrooms at the reception and restaurant were smelly and not clean. They were filled with mosquitoes and other insects.

There is no option for a proper communication with the property (prior to reaching the place), as their phone wasn't working (the one mentioned online). We had booked rooms online and on reaching the property we wanted to make some changes (we wanted to change the rooms as the ones allocated to us weren't satisfactory; we had wanted to change from luxury to suite). However, they would not allow for cancellation of rooms booked online. That was fine. However, the fact that we were the only guests there and that we hadn't had the opportunity to talk to them before reaching the location should have been considered I guess.

They also do not have a driver's room or any other amenities for the driver (despite being a 3-star hotel).

To sum it up, the stay was not worth the money spent. Landmark being a hotel chain with some reputation, this property is an utter disappointment.

The bed are not comfortable. For double bed they have joined two single wrought iron bed and made into double bed. Breakfast is not good as cook is not there. The Attendants make the breakfast and its not good. The amenities what is mentioned are not given. The good part is -- the hygiene and cleanliness part. The gym and salon is in bad shape - not maintained properly.

When we stayed in the second half of December 2021, it was almost empty. Food was not so great. Very limited menu of food. The room is ok. The only thing I found is that all the rooms are having windows in the verandah side from where you enter into the room. If one talks loud inside, people passing by the common verandah will definitely hear it. Ample parking space. It is situated right beside the Haflong Lake and the Children Park. It is about 700 meters away from the main market area.

Went to Cafe Haflong (part of The Landmark) for a quick snack.
Nice place on the covered terrace. Food was tasty and well presented. The place can however do with a bit of makeover - paints, maintenance, etc. Seems cash is the only option for payment.
