Oldest center of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Hods a natural cave which was used as a freezer in colonial area for keeping scientifically important bacteria. It was then called Imperial veterinary research institute and after Independence became Indian veterinary research institute whose main office was shifted to Izzatnagar near bareilly and this was converted into a Regional station of same.
