Pahari Soul

Room was not as per the photo being shown, bed was broken and damaged, far distance from mall road and railway station, local transportation tough to get and charge heavy demand for reserve only, in night you don't get any transport to return to hotel had to walk only for 5 ksm only thing good was service,breakfast was good, caretaker was very well behaved,nice and polite, but after all a vacation is all about nice stay and good ambience which is 1/5. everything except behaviour ,breakfast and cooperation of staff

Pros:
1. you can see the Kanchenjunga right from your window. I took their best room with the balcony which they charged 1500/- a night. The view was absolutely to die for.
2. Staff was very helpful and polite.
3. The food was really cheap but great. They always made sure to ask me three times a day when I stayed in if I wanted to a meal. Not everything was always available (ofc because it’s not a hotel) but they made sure there’s enough food on the plate to satisfy two people (even tho I went alone lol)
4. You can ask the people their for taxi services. They’ve got contacts and can hitch you up.
5. Solo women travellers are allowed to stay.
6. The room is beautiful and the bathroom was nice and clean.
7. They provided tea bags and mugs and kettle, also slippers and I loved these tiny touches.
Cons:
1. It’s a little far from the Mall. You’ll have to take a car which cost me 300/- one way but I think I was ripped off so just bargain well. Or you can walk up, I did that once but the road was way uphill.
2. The toy train line is just below and it makes an awful lot of racket while going and whistling.

The room was good. Staff also good. The view from room was awesome. U can watch those scenery all day long. The location is perfect if you are new to darjeeling. Affordable.

Very much poor quality homestay

Host - ( behavior is very worst)
As u feel like you are a garbage. And they treat u as a servant.
They only knohow to make money from tourist.

Food quality is very worst.ans prices are sky high.

Above all, they misbehave with thoose with whom they do business

I would never choose to stay in a hotel where they will treat you badly with your money

I would recommend paying another 100 to 200 ra more to stay in a better place where atleast someone will help you if need.

The Kanchenjunga is visible from inside the room. The Toy Train runs just below the homestay. From the homestay itself you can enjoy the beautiful views. Connectivity is very good from this area.
Very nice and supportive people. They provide matress warmers which is a must due to the extreme cold weather here. Food quality is very good and hygienic.

Stayed from 23rd October 2022 to 28th October 2022. Overall nice homestay. Great Kanchanjunga view right from bed. Food option is limited, quality is good but quantity for couple is less. Toy Train can be viewed right from balcony. Darjeeling city can be viewed from balcony. Most important, you have 180 degree panorama view of the Kanchanjunga. Could have given a 5 star but somehow I felt a little insecure as the most costly room (Luxury room) on the 2nd floor has access from outside and anyone can come up the stairs. Also most of the time you wont find anyone in the reception area. You have to ask for Tea supplements everyday. Quality of stay was good. Toilet is well equipped with modern accessories and 24 hours hot water. 3 kms away from all noise & crowd of Mall area. But that was the plan to get rid of all city pollution for atleast 5 days. We enjoyed our stay at the Pahari Soul and would recommend others to stay also.

Good homestay with all basic amenities. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We booked a deluxe room with hill view. The room has a window with Kanchenjunga view but no balcony attached. The staff asked everytime for the upcoming meal like breakfast lunch dinner as they had to bring the materials from market. Hence we need to inform them in advance. There is an open space which can be used for dine-in purposes and offers mesmerizing views of Kanchenjunga and Darjeeling city. The toy train runs right beside the homestay on the main road. Darjeeling market is some 4 - 5 kms away and can be reached in 15 - 20 mins.

I would recommend this homestay if you are looking for a hassle-free Darjeeling trip. They have an amazing service in terms of food, accomodation, free WiFi, and arranging the necessities. Their car service is also excellent and value for the money. The property is at Dali and not very far from main road. You can take taxi which takes 15 rs/- that would take you to the Chowrasta.
