The Red Roof Farms A Homestay

It was an awesome stay at Red Roof Farms. So very peaceful and relaxing place. Hospitality was beyond expectations. Vandana and Mr. Surendar are lovely hosts made us feel so very comfortable during our stay there for 2 nights. Nitin is a perfect chef, home made food so very tastefully made. And beyond everything the apple orchards they are mesmerizing. I thank Vandana and Mr. Surendar for hosting us. Planning to visit them soon.

The Red Roof Farms is a beautiful homestay in Barog on the highway itself. It is very easy to approach. House owner Vandana is attentive about the guest arrival before they reach the homestay. She has a beautiful property. Rooms are very well decorated, with attached kitchen, toilet and living area with a sofa bed and TV. Interiors of this space is really beautiful. You will have your private balcony and garden. Privacy is well intact. Caretaker Nitin is very helpful and quick in responding to your needs. Good food, quality and quantity both. You will have a view of Solan city from the balcony. You can also see Kalka- Shimla toy train moving to and fro. Over all its a nice property, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Appropriate location for a staycation during Work From home timeline. They provide good wifi connection. Another plus point is that this place has zomato delivery service, so it's easy to order in food as well. There is a beautiful apple orchard in their premises which they have started developing recently and will bloom beautifully in future.

Exceptional property, beautifully decorated, warm and cozy with all modern amenities. The home cooked food is awesome. Zomato does deliver to this location. The owners Vandana and Virender are exceptionally warm and inviting people. Special mention for Nitin who will look after you from morning till night. One should take a walk in their Apple orchards. The view from balcony is mesmerizing.

Amazing place to stay, hardly 1 and half hour away from Chandigarh, proper roads, amazing hosts, breathtaking view from the Patio.
Hosts are very cordial, loved my pet, and the helper is always a phone call away.

Stayed at The red Roof Farms few weeks back and still cherish the memories. Barog is not a big tourist place so not much to do in the city except the MOST BEAUTIFUL RAILWAY STATION OF BAROG (must visit). So, I wanted to go to a place which is peaceful, homely and close the nature. And The Red roof met all my needs very beautifully. Vandana and Surinder ji were great host to us. Their warm, caring and friendly behavior made the stay wonderful. Their caretaker Nitin needs special mention and attended all our wishes with smile on his face. Would wait to visit again!!

Its bang on the highway and you'll recognise it immediately. Park your vehicle there. First we walked down the ramp to a main gate, where we were greeted by Nitin, the caretaker who served nice n warm water. Then another flight of stairs down we were shown our cottage. It has a separate gate, then a lawn, then the main door n house.... Which had a living room with balcony, a bedroom with ample storage, a kitchenette and a bathroom.

The setting is just perfect. The highway noise does not, at all, reach your ears. You have awesome view of the mountains n the valley from your bed. From here, you can also watch the trains running on kalka-shimla heritage track.
The cottage is quite tastefully n neatly done. The cleanliness is above par. There are room heaters in both rooms which kept us cosy inside when it was 3 degrees outside. We found about 20-25 books/novels of several genres, neatly lined up, in case one needs some "me time" sipping hot tea..
Nitin was just a call away every time. He prepares yummy food. Loved the poori bhaji and gobhi paratha. The chai was just as required.. "kadak".
We had our breakfasts in open lawn in winter sun and enjoyed every moment of it.
If one desires, Nitin will also set up bonfires at night.
The property also includes farmlands. We n our daughter had real fun walking up and down the farmlands and interacting with the dwellers there.

Another great thing is ... The Barog railway station is a 20-25 minutes walk+trek away from the Red Roof. Its quite exciting and not to be missed. The trek itself is fun and the railway station is cute n scenic and has a special story attached to the record holder railway tunnel which opens there.

Some suggestions.. one can plan a lunch at open deck of hotel Barog Heights which is on a hilltop. One must also visit Jatoli Shiva Temple, which is another wonderful place.

The owner Mrs.Vandana was so warm. She always would call/msg and kept us updated even before we reached there. We also met her husband couple of times and he always greeted us with warmth and asked how he could help.

I stayed at Red Roof Farms (Barog) with my family for 3 nights. I think it's one of the best on road scenic location just 1.5 hours away from Chandigarh. Property is awesome, with all the best in class amenities, home cooked excellent Food.
Mrs. And Mr. Mehta treat their guests in a best way. We loved our stay and will surely visit again.
If you are looking for beautiful, relaxing and peaceful place to stay in Barog I think this is the best. Happy Vacations!!!
