I highly recommend staying with Shakeel! He has a wealth of knowledge on the area and is well known in the community, making this a great place to stay in order to learn more about and experience for yourself Indian village life, tribal culture and local nature. Shakeel is a caring, relaxed and knowledgable host- you will certainly be well looked after at his place!

I spent a week with Shakeel at his homestay. His home is very comfortable, his cooking excellent and his knowledge of the local area and its people seems boundless. Shakeel was very attentive to my needs and interests and took me to meet artisans and local tribal villages. I was sad to leave the lovely village and the friendly people, but I plan to go back in the future. Thank you Shakeel for a memorable holiday!

This is only homestay in Bastar. Shakeel Rizvi gives all the facility to his guests and tourists in this house. He takes around the region to show waterfalls, caves, villages and markets. He knows very wel local dialect and language. He is very famous within the people for providing animal husbandry service and social add. Best wishes and good luck for him.

I ordinarily prefer independent travel, but there's no doubt about it: Shakeel is an extraordinarily resourceful person. In 15 visits to India and three separate trips to Bastar, I genuinely believe that Shakeel and his homestay provided an invaluable opportunity to access a part of Chhattisgarh that can be difficult to navigate alone. He went above and beyond my expectations, arranging whatever he could to ensure that I had a worthwhile experience. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn about and see Bastar at the ground level, no matter what places you're interested in exploring. Superb place to spend few nights at this place. Lovely scenic view pure village atmosphere, traditional village food. From here you can do trekking, cycling, can visit most renowned waterfalls, caves, jungle etc. Birding is the most loving activity here which birders found. First of all, Do not expect your stay in an organized institutional Hotel environment with all modern amenities and hospitality but consider it a stay in a nature oriented environment with hospitality from the heart of the tribal people who will consider you as their family. The extraordinary social worker, activist and guide Mr. Shakil Rizvi will provide you with the best opportunity of your life to experience the indigenous tribal life, culture, and traditions in their original form (there are lots of Govt. and Non Govt. tribal tourism initiative exist that gives you artificial essence of tribal lifestyle) along with pure and raw experience of the forests and ecological wonders of Bastar and to test organic original tribal cuisine. This tour was a life changing experience for me and I strongly recommend it to everyone who wants to witness and experience something new and original.
