An wonderful place to visit. The sunset on the backdrop of a historical place looks very serene.
It is a basement construction of a Hindu temple.Ballal Sen was fond of religion and literature. He had deep knowledge in Vedas, Smriti and Puranas. He was also a devotee of Tantric Hinduism. At the end of his life, he handed over the rulership to his son Lakshmana Sen and spent his last life practicing scriptures on the banks of the Ganges near Triveni.
in 1202 Turkish military leader Ikhtiyar Uddin Muhammad bin Bakhtiyar Khalji attacked Bengal. A few days before this, Lakshmana Sen had established a temporary capital at Nadia. When Nadia was attacked by the Turks, the old king Lakshmana Sen marched forward with an army, but as there was not a sufficient number of soldiers in the palace, he set sail for East Bengal by boat.
At that time this temple was under constructions and unable to start again.
