This is Salkhan Fossil Park also known as Sonbhadra fossil park, situated in sonbhadra district of UP near Varanasi. This park known as fossil park because the fossils present in this park are nearly 1.5 Billion year old or more. Still while roaming their local people told us that initially this is nearly flat but now these fossils are growing as you seen in pictures the upright structures. Mainly their is stromatolites present hence the rings are present as stromatolites are layered sedimentary formations. The park is spread about 25 Ha in Kaimoor Wildlife range.
