This is one of smaller forts in Rajasthan. Its situated right in middle of the city and the way there goes through a maze of small alleys which has shops, cafes and houses on both sides. The fort is small yet beautiful. There is a small museum on top which displays antique arms and items. The shops are colorful and shopping here is one of a kind experience. Best time to visit is in evening, so after watching the fort you can sit by a cafe and watch sunset from the top and later can go some night shopping while coming down.

Fort itself is not bad. Night walk here is a must in the summer days. You need max to max 4-5 hrs to explore the entire fort, visit at around afternoon or during sunset to see the fort in its full glory.
Avoid staying inside the fort in Homestay or hotels if you are claustrophobic, not used to bad smells or are expecting above average hospitality. Being a living fort its full of people and has very narrow pathways, being an old structure its not possible to upgrade its facilities.

One of the Oldest forts in India and still Well maintained by government officials,
Well to see the fort from inside, an individual will have to pay Rs 200 per person. Rest part of the fort is already captured by Hotel industry.
If u wanna see how Kings n queens of Rajasthan made heaven in desert, visit and see from your own eyes. The city is surrounded near fort but the beauty will attract your eyes as u reach Jaisalmer.

If was 6 30 am when I reached Jaisalmer and I was really lucky to get the sunrise view, I ll upload Some pics. Imagine how kings ordered the architecture to be made to the local engineers and builder years back.

One more attractive thing is the color of the walls, the entire city is made by the same stones which were used at the time of building the fort.

I was amazed and felt like this Is an another world located here.

Do visit the fort and if u are in budget do look from inside too.

Visited during desert festival 2023. Awesome experience with friends. Fort is near to railway station and airport, which makes it the first place to visit Jaisalmer. Holds the history of the first-century kings and their long-lasting brethren which still live there. Atop the fort claims a stunning view of the Golden city.

One of the best live fort in India. It is a combination of fort and shopping. You can see a lot of shops selling clothes, souvenirs, ornaments etc etc. You can have a good view of the golden city from top of the fort. Temples and restaurants are also present here. In the street at the entrance of the fort also there are many shops. It is a must visit spot.

It's a historic fort and if you need detailed explanation hire a guide but be careful about price. There is no entrance fee.

If you want to see and take pics just go without guide and see everything by your own.

It's more of local shopping as around 4000 population stays on fort there shops are all the corners.

A very different fort , as it is the only living fort (a fort where people still reside) and has hotels and restaurants inside (albeit not so nice😂) . You can view the entire city from the top.
One advice to readers : no need for a guide as he wont even give full information, better to read online about it and then visit it. It has multiple sub buildings and they aren't worth your time. Just have a look at the main king's building and roam the streets!
Advice to management: try to improve the cleanliness in the streets
