It is a UNESCO heritage site. Place has a different kind of vibe, very calm.
The carvings are unique and the architecture is beautiful. It also has step well beside the temple.
Every single frame is a picturesque frame.
Temple is surrounded by wide lengths of greenery making it a perfect spot for family outings.
The most amazing fact is the village it is situated in - Modhera (first 24*7 solar powered village).

UNESCO world heritage. Almost 1000 year old. Very well maintained. Really good infrastructure and roads leading to it.

Lot of green space. Highly recommended to use service of local guide and then you will have real appreciation of the place, history and richness of Indian culture.

Basic restaurant serving local food and basic toilet facilities available.

The beauty of the temple simply left me speechless! A wall that captured the sun's rays as the sun god- the simplicity and the hidden philosophy, the intricately carved walls and the sublime peace... it is truly worth the visit. Ticket costs 25 rs per person. Please carry water with you, as it can get very hot. Also, the tank has tortoises.

A very nice historical place to visit this 11th century Temple.Having a very fine architectural temple.Pond near the temple is very rich in design and symmetrical in look. Anyone who is a small lover of historical places will enjoy this place.
In the evening there is a light show for 20 min.
Awesome place for a one day trip..

Beautiful temples, exquisite art, and a serene place overall. It's a UNESCO world heritage site, so it's pretty well maintained but can get crowded on weekends and holidays. Try to visit in the early morning and late evening (it's open till 9 PM with amazing lighting). It is recommended to get a guide because there are a lot of stories and unique things hidden throughout the complex.

Nice place to spend 1-2 hour with family. Entry is free other than vehicle parking charges. No worship is offered currently and its a protected monument maintained by Archaeological Survey of India. It has multiple temples with well carved architecture. Its recommended to get a guide to make the most of your visit. There is also a museum in the same premise which can be visited free of cost.

An exquisite place to take yourself back in time. The enthralling carvings and the geometry on show at this place makes one just stand and admire. There seems to be a lot of tales and anecdotes attached to each carving present at this place.

There is ample parking for visitors and shops offering light meals and snacks. Authorities have done a good job to maintain the place. Also i have heard that there is a laser show conducted during evening hours. Not sure about it as i didn't stay long enough to witness it.

I had gone here just prior to the winter season and I'm pretty sure that this place will look magical throughout the year.

The Modhera Sun Temple is a must-see heritage location for its marvellous architecture. While the temple is stunning, one sometimes feels sad looking at how time, weather, and invasions have eroded the magnificence with which it must have shone in brilliance centuries ago. The kund (water tank) in the front with its step-well design is fascinating. You could spend good time appreciating the intricate carvings everywhere. In the evening the place is lit up nicely (I went in the morning). A small museum just showcases some sculptures but lacks much information.
