A historic pond located at the heart of Tinsukia, surrounded with greenery.

Earlier the place was awesome, people use to pay regular visits to this place just to spend some time, but nowadays you can breathe there freely, full of dusts, smokes and bad smell. No maintenance by town committee or municipality. People throws plastic bags, bottles unused clothes etc etc. Nobody has that minimum sense that it's one of the identity of the city and we should keep it clean and we'll maintained.
I request all the concerned authority to look into it and turn the pond to its original form.

A. T. Road bifurcates at Tinikonia Pukhuri into two roads: G. N. B. Road and Station Road. While G. N. B. Road leads to the inner parts of the town, Station Road meets Makum Road, the road leading to Makum, a town 8 km away from Tinsukia. Thus, if one wants to bypass Tinsukia’s central areas while travelling towards Makum, one may take Station Road and directly arrive at Makum Road. Station Road is just like a mini bypass passing through Tinsukia town and is the most congested road in the town. It is said that the origin of the word Tinsukia is the name this triangular pond is known by, i.e. Tinikonia Pukhuri.

The maintenance is very poor. And it's becoming dirty. Colors should be painted in the walls, no lights at night. We should take care of this historical landmark. Plus people are throwing garbages around the pond. Be a little conscious about the city, people.

This is the centre of Tinsukia.. The name of Tinsukia district was derived from this place.. It has a statue of Sarbananda Singha in the middle of the pond.. The irony is that it's not maintained properly by the authorities..
