Pathra has many anicent temples (under supervision of Archaeological Survey of India) in the bank of Kongshaboti river. Temples have been kept in very neat & clean manner. Roads leading to Pathra after the exit from highway are not so nice surface.

Please do not touch the artwork in temple and maintain silence. Locals have maintained the surroundings very nice, please do not litter.

It's a historical place with lots of old terracotta temples. The place is situated by the river Kangsabati and not more than 10 km from Midnapur town. The sunset in the river is an extra gift for the tourists. If someone loves a lonely but beautiful tourist spot he or she may choose the place. There are also a ruined palace, rash mancha and a few broken temples 1 or 2 km away from the main temple sight.

The temple of Pathra have traces of terracotta Lack of terracotta ornamentation is largely compensated by intricate limestone stucco ornamentation. Today the temple village of Pathra is located 15 km west of the Midnapore Town and on the northern banks of the Kansabati River.

Nicely located ancient temples on the bank of kangsavati river. The temples are made of bricks and fine designs are on the walls.
But the structures are not protected at all. Everything is breaking down.
Even no description of temples are not given by the Archeological survey of India. There is no protection at all, the walls are distorted by some people. These structures need to be protected.

Excellent historical place. Communication is very poor. You can travel here by hiring a auto or car from Kharagpur Station.

Charge to Visit: Nil.
Temples are on both side of the road at the bank of the river Kangashabati.
