🔸It's very clean place.
🔸Nice management for Ganga maiya aarti.
The evening aarti is so nice and beautiful.
🔸Many people take bath after aarti.
🔸Ganga maiya water is very clean. It is a diverted stream so the depth is around 4 to 5 feet only. It's safe to have bath here.
🔸 So many Diyas in the evening aarti makes the ambiance so beautiful, divine and positive...I think everyone should attend it once in life time.
🔸It's believed that Lord Vishnu had come on this place in ancient time , so it's called Har ki Paudi.
🔸Kumbh Mela is arranged every 12 years here.
🔸Ganga maiya flow starts horizontal on ground here.
In the evening, you will find a sea of people on both sides of the aarti sthal through which the river flows. And with all the diyas lit together in the dark of the night and the flowing water with all the prayers being chanted simultaneously, the entire scene is a must-watch if you are in Haridwar.
Also, you can actually get to do the aarti as well as we did. You can speak to one of the stalls at the ghats about you wanting to do the aarti, and they shall let you do it (of course, with some donations). But the whole place is one divine experience. Additionally, there are also tons of shops and markets in case you wish to indulge in street shopping. Some of these shops date back even 100 yrs old and are worth the visit.
All in all, a beautiful and divine experience that one can get at Shri Ganga Sabha. A must-visit destination and experience in Haridwar.
It starts in the evening, but ensure you reach a while ago...
A lot of people think watching from close by, adjacent is better...
Rather it's better you sit on the opposite side, s bit away and then you watch the complete spectacle...
It continues for almost more than an hour..
The place is one of the main tourists attraction and also place for worship of devotees from all over the world.
Devotees from all over the world come here to perform Ganga Pooja, religious rituals and Ganga Snan (Religious dip in Ganga)
Ganga Aarti, is a ritual of light and sound where the priests perform prayers with bowls of fire and the ringing of the temple bells. Visitors float "diyas" (small candles) and flowers, surrounded by the chanting of the mantras and the reflection of the lights off the surface of the flowing river, which is said to be blessed by the Goddess Ganga.
