Koteshwar Mahadev Temple

Not constructed fully, 2km walking is required to reach the temple

Good place for puja and meditation. Peaceful and beautiful view. You can visit along with family and friends. To reach the place small portion of road is not good. If you want to stay night usually arrangements can be done.

This temple is located downstream of the Koteshwar dam on the Bhagirathi River.
This is a temple of Lord Shiva Mahadev, with Nandi dutifully watching.
The outflow from the river forms a meander at this very point and looks awesome and out of the world. The water in the river is blue and fast and very cold, and one can take a dip at the ghat.
To approach this temple from Koteshwar dam, one has to drive about 20 minutes from the dam and park the car. Thereafter one has to descend down steps for 20 min to reach the mandir. To return to the parking stop the ascent climb takes about 30 minutes. Best time to go is during mornings or evenings. During peak sun time it is better to avoid the climb.

Another method of approach is to drive from Koteshwar dam to a lower point which takes 30 additional minutes of drive and reduces about 10 minutes of the walk.
Overall a very beautiful place.

Must go place, it's apporx 3 hr drive from rishikesh, also you will not find any food place as well as petrol pump...mandir is beautiful surrounding by ganga river 3 sides... if you want to stay in mandir you can .they have 4 room guesthouse... inside mandir...but no food....no crowd..just deep silence.....you need to track 30-40 min after car parking....keep all you stuff if plan to stay...

When I reached at temple, there was roughly any people, it was giving such vibes, go there off season you will love it.

Jai shiv shambhu

A beautiful, quiet, serene place. Somewhere to watch the mighty Ganga River circlambulate the Koteshwar mandir. A place to bathe in the clean waters of the Ganga. I loved visiting the mandir and this place. Bathing in the cool waters of the Ganga River was refreshing. You can do puja of the Shivling. There is a steep walk of about 500m to and from the road to the mandir. The town is about 1km away.

Koteshwar mahadev tample is historical place in uttarakhand, india. Brahma worshiped in this place and doing tapa for shiva. This place is mainteind in skanda purana.
