Chandrabadani is a mountain (2,277m above sea-level). On the border of tahsil Devaprayagand Pratapnagar is the well known temple of Chandrabadni Devi, lying at the top of the mountain about 10 km. north of Kandi Khal ( a place on the Devaprayag-Kirti Nagar metalled road).

The temple of ma chandrabadni is one of the sakti pith. It's very famous in uttarakhand specially in tehri and uttarkashi district. It's reachable. Only about 2 kilometer is pedestrian pathway. View from temple is panaromic hill views. Nature lovers and religious people must visit this temple. Folk story about this temple is that body part (badan) of devi gauri was fell here when Mahadev was angry with Daksh Prajapati after the death of Sati.

Situated at the top of Chandrakut hill, this temple is one of the Shakti peeths. As the name suggests, chandrabadni, Goddess Shakti's torso fell on this place.
You have to climb on foot to the temple, a concrete path is there for the convenience. The view towards the destination is pristine, and as you ascend you can clearly see the Himalayan ranges clad in white sheets of snow. At the top there is a small temple and the cold breeze is constant there. At the bottom from where the temple stair starts vendors of puja samagri are there.
The only thing lacking there is a washroom near the premises and even if one is there that is in disgusting condition.

Maa Chandrabadani Devi temple is situated on Chandra kut mountain in Tehri, Uttarakhand state. It is at 2277 mtr (7470 ft) height from m.s.l. It is one of the important Shakti peeths. It is 35 km away from Devprayag. A holy place with beautiful burhans trees along the way to temple. Picturesque views of Himalaya mountains and valleys. One must visit this beautiful & peaceful religious place.
