One of my favourite places is Madhyamaheshwar, i can never forget the unbelievably beauty of this temple. A good trek, and while trekking you will get a beautiful waterfall, forest, and villages. One of the best treks of my life.

Madhyamaheshwar comes under Panch Kedar (Panch Kedar - Kedarnath, Rudranath, Tungnath, Kalpeshwar and Madhyamaheshwar).

To reach Madhyamaheshwar you have to go till Ukhimath from there the roads are divided into two parts - One is for Chopta/Tungnath and second is for Madhyamaheshwar.

I do have a lot of words but can't express everything here. You must have to visit this beauty the only thing i have to say.

A different trek to reach here but the place is amazing. You will find a small Lord Shiva temple after completing 1.5 Km trek and some taals, where you can see reflection of Chokhambha mountain.

MadMaheshwar is one of the Panch Kedar in the state of Uttarakhand. Its a pristine location with huge bugyals surrounded by snow clad peaks. Lovely place which houses a 1000 yr old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Reach Rudraprayag and get a local taxi to Village Ransi. From Ransi its about 17 km hike to MadMaheshwar. It's a good trail which tests your endurance and strength a little.

In between you find stay and food options at Village Bantoli. After Bantoli you find lodging options directly near the temple. Bantoli to MadMaheshwar is a 10 km hike. You find lots of beautiful and vibrant color birds enroute.

Loved the whole experience. Highly Recommended.

Sitting pretty on the foothills of towering peaks in the state's Garhwal region, Madhyamaheshwar (also known as Madhmaheshwar) is a revered religious site. One of the Panch Kedars (holy temples dedicated to Lord Shiva), Madhyamaheshwar is located in the district of Rudraprayag and is steeped in mythology and folklore. According to legend, after the epic Mahabharat war, the Pandavas wanted to pay reverence to Lord Shiva in order to absolve them from their sin. On sighting the approaching Pandavas, Lord Shiva turned into a bull in order to illude them. But Bhima, one of the five Pandava brothers, recognised the Lord and pursued him relentlessly. Lord Shiva divided his body into five parts to escape Bhima. The sites where the five parts of the Lord appeared are revered as the Panch Kedar. The middle-torso of the Lord is said to have appeared in Madhyamaheshwar ('madhya' in Hindi means middle). To reach the temple, visitors and pilgrims embark on a tedious 24-km-long trek. This arduous hike, however, is worth the effort as visitors are treated to uninterrupted views of green land and surrounding mountains. The temple stands opposite the Chaukhamba, Neelkanth and Kedarnath mountain peaks.

Best time to visit:

One of the toughest tracks in Uttarakhand but you have several fountains, greenery in the way. After the track you got beautiful temple in between of Himalaya. There is a facility of home stay available for night stay and also provide quality food.

Best trek I have ever done... The view is breath taking..You will be witnessing the best sunsets along the trek, don't miss it..
Up and down its around 32 km trek.. we took 3 days to complete the trek... You will be getting stay options along the way... But it's seasonal.. please check with the locals before you start the trek..better to avoid trek in winter season
