I am so grateful that Lord Shiva allow us to visit this beautiful temple. Its a beautiful serene place away from the world, solitude and beauty is waiting for those who has in heart to meditate and sit in the lap of nature.

Mandir is must go place for devotees. Place is located in very peaceful ambience. It takes 2 hrs from lansdowne to reach. I would suggest to take own car only if you are confident enough to drive. The route is narrow & be extra cautious while driving. Overall experience was good.Prefer to leave early morning & return back before evening.

Amazing experience. Lots of lush green surroundings. Mandir premises are maintained quite well.

Tarkeshwar Baba did tapa of God Shiva. Inside the mandir you'll find sculpture embedded for Tarkeshwar baba. Around the mandir, various small statues of Shiv are there. There's a Shivlinga outside, where you can do jal arpan. A separate mandir is there for Maa Durga.

Entrance of the mandir contains many small temple bells. Whole area gets resonated with the sound of that.
We went there on Monday, Shiva's day. There was a bhandara that they were serving there.

If you are coming from Kotdwar, before reaching Lansdowne, some 4 kms away, there's a right cut for Tarkeshwar dham that goes downhill. From there it's 35 kms. The roads lead upto Mandir. Only 4-5 mins of walking on foot, you'll have to do which consists of steps, covered from above. Car parking can be done either on reaching Mandir, or some 200-300 mtrs before Mandir on the roadside, to avoid any unnecessary jams on return.

Its an awesome place. Nested in deep pine forests. This place is about 35km away from Lansdowne. The way to temple has got scenic beauty. Road is narrow but more or less good. You have to treck about 500m from the parking area. Place is so peaceful. Its worth the visit when visiting Lansdowne

Different experience here, almost 2 hours drive from Lansdowne and little trek (steps) to reach temple. I went early in the morning (May be first one for the day) & it was little scary. So recommend not to go early, best time is to reach there by 11 or so. Nature was beautiful near the temple which you can see from pics I have uploaded. Last but not least road from Lansdowne is not bvery good but ok types.

Tarkeshwar Mahadev temple is one of the famous temples of Lord Shiva. Temple is located in very serene surroundings. The Himalayan cedar or Deodhar trees are tall and add to the already ethereal surroundings. The 1-1.5hr drive is through some breathtaking valleys and narrow winding roads.

Loved the experience.
Is a very peaceful place to visit in off season.
Natural beauty and great views while travelling to the destination.
If you are planning to stay couple of good resorts to stay within a range between 20 - 30 km from Tarkeshwar... You should visit once...
