Nag Devta Temple

Very Good Place, Silent & Pleasant. Beautiful sceneries.

Beautiful temple dedicated to Nag Devta who was a devotee of Shiva. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. Quaint and peaceful, when we went there was no pandit ji. Has many temples within.

It is towards the kimadi side of Mussoorie, you would miss the turn towards the temple. As I did it’s slight left towards the actual road with an arch reading” pracheen nag devta mandir”. After entering the arch it’s barely 3-4km drive though it’s not a pakka road. Better avoid during monsoons as the place infamous for landslides. There is no place for not more than 10 cars as you can see the pictures attached. One can enjoy a nice walk from the starting point as soon as you take the turn or just trust your instincts and find a tight parking spot. It’s barely 700 m walk or trek however you say it. The temple is surrounded by two large meadows on either side where you can sit/meditate/relax. Along with the temple there’s a small house where the priest stays. It’s a 1-2 hr affair but a place worth visiting.

The most beautiful place in Dehradun. Very quite and peaceful.

Could not enter the temple premises, as it was closed either following COVID protocols or the timing was not right. However the temple is located in a serene ambience at corner of a curve. It is visible even from the Cart road. Just afront the temple on the road is a hotel. The hotel has dining provisions along with clean toilet facilities. One has to park in front of the hotel and climb down the path, behind the hotel, to access the temple.
