Badhangarhi Temple

Good steep climb up cemented steps. 3 km trek which can be reduced to 1.5 km by taking a vehicle to Binatoli village. Impressive Kali and Durga Mata temple with a shed to enable cooking meals.

For those who love treking it is a climb of 3 kms and loacted in Gwaldam Uttarakhand. It is around 6 kms from gwldam market

Great belief as local people goddess(Maa Kali).it was believed that Maa Bhagwati protecting this place from all problems. One of the Siddh peeth as per Hindu mythology. You need to trek for more than 4 km from SSB base camp binatoli, situated at 2260meters from sea level. Also famous for bird viewing, watching mountains ranges like nanda ghunti,Trishul,etc. 9km from gwaldam main market. Badhan means place of Kali mata. Kali mata treated as owner of this place in the form of Maa Badhangarhi.

This temple is one of those hidden gems not many people know about. It is a long Hike from the tall so we prepared for a long and exhausting walk. As you move forward you will gain altitude real quick it is quite a steep hike. And that's the difficult part but on your way to the temple you will see beautiful scenery you didn't expect and a lot of them in various sports during the Hike the temple itself is located on top of the hill it will take you around an hour or so depending upon your speed. The view from the top is jus exquisite.

Very beautiful place you can visit any month here open 12 months mainly dedicated to goddess Maa kaali , very peaceful place you can sit here and connect yourself with Nature you can enjoy the view of Garhwal and Kumaon Himalayas ranges from here . Temple situated at the border of Kumaon and Garhwal region , the 4-5 km Trek from binatoli which is 6 km away from Gwaldam hill station , i personally recommend you to visit this place once if come to this place .

Badhangarhi Temple is a famous temple located in Gwaldam in Chamoli district, which is about 8-9 km away from Gwaldam. This temple is situated at an altitude of about 2260 meters from the sea level. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, also known as Dakshineshwar Kali.
Devotees and visitors can cover the first 4 kms on road upto a place known as Taal while the rest 4 kms requires one to travel by foot. From Taal one treks uphill to Binatoli. The Badhangarhi temple along with temples of Goddess Bhagwati and Dakshin Kali are located just few meters ahead of Binatoli.

This temple was built during the rule of the Katyuri dynasty, who have ruled this region till 8th and 12th century. This temple is a popular temple of this area, also called Chilla valley.
The temple of Kali Mata is called “Badhan’ in this area. It is also said about the temple that every desire to be sought here is absolutely fulfilled.
