Narada Muni also told Mata Lakshmi the way to bring back Lord Vishnu. He said that you should go to Hades on the full moon of Shravan month and tie a rakshasutra on the wrist of King Bali. After tying the Rakshasutra, ask King Bali to return them. On this, where did Mata Lakshmi say that I do not know the way to know Hades, will you walk with me to Hades. On this he accepted the request of Mata Lakshmi and he went with her to Hades. After which, in the absence of Narad Muni, the Jar priest of Kalgoth village worshiped Vanshi Narayan, since then this tradition is going on.
On the day of Rakshabandhan, butter comes from every house of Kalgoth village for Lord Narayan. Prasad is prepared from this butter there. Many rare species of flowers bloom in the flowerpot of Lord Vanshi Narayan. Lord Narayan's makeup is also done in this temple on Shravan Purnima. After this the people of the village tie Rakshasutra to Lord Narayan. There are priests of Thakur caste in the temple.
The womb of this temple, 10 feet high, built in the Katyuri style, is also square. Where Lord Vishnu is present in the form of a quadrilateral. The special thing about this temple is that both Lord Narayan and Lord Shiva are seen in the statue of this temple. The idols of Lord Ganesha and forest goddesses are also present in the Vanshi Narayan temple.

एक बार राजा बलि ने भगवान विष्णु से आग्रह किया कि वह उनके द्वारपाल बने। भगवान विष्णु ने राजा बलि के इस आग्रह को स्वीकार कर लिया और वह राजा बलि के साथ पाताल लोक चले गए। भगवान विष्णु के कई दिनों तक दर्शन न होने कारण माता लक्ष्मी परेशान हो गई और वह नारद मुनि के पास गई। नारद मुनि के पास पहुंचकर उन्होंने माता लक्ष्मी से पूछा के भगवान विष्णु कहां पर है। जिसके बाद नारद मुनि ने माता लक्ष्मी को बताया कि वह पाताल लोक में हैं और द्वारपाल बने हुए हैं।
नारद मुनि ने माता लक्ष्मी को भगवान विष्णु को वापस लाने का उपाय भी बताया । उन्होंने कहा कि आप श्रावण मास की पूर्णिमा को पाताल लोक में जाएं और राजा बलि की कलाई पर रक्षासूत्र बांध दें। रक्षासूत्र बांधने के बाद राजा बलि से वापस उन्हें मांग लें। इस पर माता लक्ष्मी ने कहां कि मुझे पाताल लोक जानें का रास्ता नहीं पता क्या आप मेरे साथ पाताल लोक चलेंगे। इस पर उन्होंने माता लक्ष्मी के आग्रह को स्वीकार कर लिया और वह उनके साथ पाताल लोक चले गए। जिसके बाद नारद मुनि की अनुपस्थिति में कलगोठ गांव के जार पुजारी ने वंशी नारायण की पूजा की तब से ही यह परंपरा चली आ रही है।
रक्षाबंधन के दिन कलगोठ गांव के प्रत्येक घर से भगवान नारायण के लिए मक्खन आता है। इसी मक्खन से वहां पर प्रसाद तैयार होता है। भगवान वंशी नारायण की फूलवारी में कई दुर्लभ प्रजाति के फूल खिलते हैं। इस मंदिर में श्रावन पूर्णिमा पर भगवान नारायण का श्रृंगार भी होता है। इसके बाद गांव के लोग भगवान नारायण को रक्षासूत्र बांधते हैं। मंदिर में ठाकुर जाति के पुजारी होते हैं
कातयूरी शैली में बने 10 फिट ऊंचे इस मंदिर का गर्भ भी वर्गाकार है। जहां भगवान विष्णु चर्तुभुज रूप में विद्यमान है। इस मंदिर की खास बात यह है कि इस मंदिर की प्रतिमा में भगवान नारायण और भगवान शिव दोनों के ही दर्शन होते हैं। वंशी नारायण मंदिर में भगवान गणेश और वन देवियों की मूर्तियां भी मौजूद हैं।
