An ancient temple where pandavas visited and performed yajna. It's in the lane, bjt far from main road but very easy to reach as it's famous in the area. Easy reach through ghats (near scindhia ghat) @sankatha ghat. Friday is the main peak day. Rest other days are not heavily crowded. Timing: 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Friday till 1:30 p.m.) and 3.30 p.m. (Friday 4 p.m.) to 9 p.m.

Sankata Devi Mandir (Hindi: संकटा देवी मंदिर), also known as Sankata Mata Mandir or simply Sankata Mandir; often referred to with prefix of Sri, is one of the most famous temples in the holy city of Varanasi. This temple has great religious importance in Hinduism and is dedicated to the goddess Sankata Devi (Goddess of danger). The Mandir was constructed in 18th century by King of Baroda. It is believed that this is the only temple in India dedicated to Sankata Devi

Sankatha Temple is located near to the Sindhia Ghat, Varanasi and dedicated to the “Goddess of Remedy,” known as the Devi Sankatha. There is a huge statue of the lion inside the premises. The statues of nine planets are also there in the temple. Sankatha Mata is a four armed idol of the most important deity of the temple. The idol of the Mata is silver plated. The idol of the Sankata Devi is about 4 to 5 feet tall which is considered as the self-manifested. On both side of the Mata, there are idol of the Lord Hanuman and Lord Bhairav. There is a big Shivlingam and a Banyan tree which protects the idols of Lord Ganesh and Lord Hanuman. There are temples of nine planets are also in the temple. It is commonly believed that Pandavas had paid homage to the Sankatha Devi during their exile.

Sankatha Temple opens at 4 am in the morning and closed at 11 pm in the night.

Such a peaceful place in narrow lanes of Varanasi on the bank of holy Ganges. This is the place where exiled Pandavs offered prayer to Godess Aadishakti (Parvati) before Mahabharat Yaddha. Maa Shakti appeared here and blessed Pandavs for their victory. Everyone must visit this auspicious location to seek blessings of Devi as she is known to remove all obstacles, problems and pain of life thus called Sankatha. Along with Devi idols of Hanuman and Bhairav stood besides Devi's idol.
