Kali Mata Ka Mandir

I was a regular visitor to this temple some 12 years back. Now, revisiting Jhansi after many years, it was at the top on my to-do list.
This temple is quite old and devotees believe that you get whatever you ask from Mata Kali.
Everyone who visits Jhansi should go there for darshan. You get all pooja items on the road approaching the temple.
You need to tell autowala, as autos are most common mode of transportation, to take you to Kali mandir of Purana shahar. The area is a bit congested, but nothing problematic.
The evening arti takes place at 8pm.

In most of the temples Maa Kali is seen in her fiery form. In temples across the country, Maa Kali is worshiped in a vengeful form, but in the Mahakali temple of Jhansi, Maa Kali is seated in the form of a kanya. The unique temple of Mahakali is located near Lakshmi Tal of Jhansi. What makes this temple unique is the idol of Maa Kali installed here. Generally, the idol of Maa Kali has khadag, khappar in its hand and shaved head around its neck.This temple was built in 1687 by Maharaja Veer Singh Judeo of Orchha. It is said that when he went hunting with his soldiers in the jungles of Jhansi, they saw a cave on a mountain near a pond. . He saw this form of Mahakali for the first time in that cave itself.Indira Gandhi had got the ritual done. Not only common people but political people also have a lot of faith in this temple of Mahakali. Leaders like Rajnath Singh, Uma Bharti and many others often come to visit this temple. Along with this, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi also got the rituals done here.Every wish sought here is fulfilled.
