It is a siddhar temple named Gurusamy Siddhar, his Samaadhi (In yoga this is regarded as the final stage, at which union with the divine is reached (before or at death) and it is worshipped as Temple here. Mostly the people are praying this god for all type of illness including cyst, when it recovers then they are offering pongal to this god also offering their hair (tonsure).

The real temple is inside the street. As mentioned by others everything is a business here. Costly garlands, coconut and pooja items.
The deity is a oil lamp. No statue.
Garlands by devotees are not submitted to the deity/lamp. So just buy Coconut, banana and the oil. No garlands.
Too much crowd.
Parking is Rs.40 compulsory. Pooja items Rs.100. Garland Rs.50.
No history of the sidhar mentioned anywhere. The heirs of sidhar are management now.
Mixed feelings. But inside temple the mind felt at peace. That was magical.

Power sidhar temple. Very organized system for Mottai and plenty of shops for getting shower. Parking charges for car is around 40 which seems bit costly for the remote place. Not much crowded on week days.

Kottur its a good village in around many small temples. In that very important and big temple is Gurusamy Sidhar temple.
Very powerful Sidhar temple. Gurusamy was devotee of shiva. Who attained jiva samadhi at this place.
Skin problem and pregnancy problem will clear if we praying there. When it recover then they are offering pongal to this God also offering their hair (Mottai). We went recently uploaded vlog also in priyaaworld.

Situated very near to ramco cement factory. On the highway from virudhunagar to sattur there is a cutting to kottur. There are many small hindu temples around this place . One such place is this, . It is said that a saint or siddhar went into jeeva samadhi ( ie. Going to ethereal world in this human body) . In his human form he was called gurusamy,hence the name gurusamy siddhar temple. There is a sivan statue which he worshipped. Ver powerful and believed to heal many illnesses which medication can't cure. God bless the devotees
