This is a Vaishnava Temple,This Shrine is one of the oldest temples in Karur.Swamy Ranganathar is in a sleeping posture. His consort Ranganayaki Thayar is very charming! Also there is a separate sannithi for Lord Renga's devotee Andal Nachiar!and Anjaneya! His weapon Chakram is also have a separate sannithi!

Lord Ranganatha here is seen in a beautiful Posture resting himself on the five hooded Serpent with his right hand (Abhaya hastham) placed on Margandeya Mahariishi’s head in a sign of blessing him and promising protection.
