The best place to learn about the architectural knowledge of Chola dynasty. Pride of Tamil people. Peaceful and calm environment. The place is maintained very well by the temple management. Have good parking facility, drinking water facility. Best time to visit will be evening. While visiting this temple by evening we can able to witness the beauty and different shades of temple with natural sunlight. One should visit this temple in their life to experience the magical architecture.

Awesome sculptures n construction. Very old temple with very rich culture n heritage passed through kings spanning across centuries. Art paintings made of natural colours still awe the debited devotees.

There is lot of carvings on huge single stones which weigh tonnes. This place has many minute details which can be known only with the help of guide.

One of most wanted to visit place of my life time, Really cool to see our ancestors work. Admired by the innovative idea ans skill. Felt so happy to be there. Must visit place, checkout the lord Murugan temple, which was a really fine sculpture work. Felt a good vibe in the Goddess temple located.

Magnificent and amazing temple structure. Historical monument and a UNESCO world heritage site.
The sheer magnitude and scale is breathtaking to say the least. Be prepared to spend at least one and a half to two hours to comfortably walk around and enjoy the visit. During summer, better to avoid bright sunny hours of the day as walking barefoot on granite floor is a very distressing experience.
Reasonably well maintained (ASI) and the landscaped area and lawn in front is very beautiful.

One of the most spectacular temples of Southern India. The temple premise is so huge that one should spend time to appreciate its beauty and architecture. The shrine is the largest amongst all the temples of the southern India and houses the largest Shiva linga in India. One must visit this grand temple once in their life time.Truly an architectural wonder! 2 eyes won't be enough to admire the temple's beauty! The level of minute detailing with perfection in each and every frame gives such an artistic view. Worthy to spend a few hours in this place alone. The best time to visit would be the evening slot, around 4:30pm when the temple glows in natural light and as evening dawns, by 6pm, the lights are on and it glows further exhibiting its magnificence. Spend a lot of time to view and admire the detailing in the main temple, both inside and out. Neatly maintained premises. A must visit for everyone and can be visited any number of times! Opening time all days from 0500 hrs to 1200 hrs . In evening 1600 hrs to 2100 hrs. No entry Fee. Parking Available outside for all after paid

The best way to see how good your ancestors were!!
What an amazing place

You can park your car in designated parking area and walk through either east gate or north entrance .. very big temple and you need about 60-90 min to visit this place. Better to do enough history research before coming here .. expect rush for Darsan. We visited around 11AM and there was heavy rush as well as sun was at its peak ! But manageable

A must visit place in India
