Very pleasant place. There are some strict dress code to follow here. Men should be shirtless inside the temple. There is a counter outside to keep your footwear. There is also a bag counter. On the way to the temple, there are so many shops. Photos are not allowed to be taken inside the temple.

One on the must visit place in Kanyakumari. The temple is of Devi kanyakumari and the dress code is strict and men have to remove shirts while entering and shouldn't take photos inside the temple. The place was very crowded when i visited in the month of April and had to wait in long queue for the darshanam. There is a bazar nearby and boating to Vivekananda rock memorial

Good vibes. We visited around 9am, there was no long queue even though it was Sunday morning. There is shops outside to keep footwear, buy prasathams and archana thali ( flowers, coconut, ....).Men can't enter inside temple wearing shirts and t-shirts. And everybody should keep phone on silent mode while darshan.

This Temple is one of the most sacred temples in the India. Dating back to more than thousand years, this temple is not only religiously significant but also has great historical importance. This ancient temple of Kanyakumari also presents mesmerising scenic beauty as it is location by the side of vast spread of ocean.

Dress code is compulsary.

Time : 6 AM to 11.30 AM and 5 PM to 8.30 PM.

Brilliant Shakti peeth! The inside could do with a little bit of cleaning. Plastic bottles thrown here and there. Isn’t very nice. But you really do get a lovely darshan for 20 bucks per person. No photography allowed inside the main temple. But truly is a beautiful goddess ♥️worth the visit 100000%

Very religious place, temple is very old its open at Morning 4:30 am - 12:00 noon and then 4:00 pm to 8:30 at night. There are very strict dressing code for men. They have to visit shirtless in temple and it is compulsory for all mens. Outside temple there are facility of removing shoe but they charge Rs. 30 for that and Rs 20 for special darshan (fast darshan quee). U can purchase so many things from nearby market at cheap rate. Best time to visit to this place is from Octomber to February.

Kanyakumari Bhagavathi Amman Temple in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, India is of being mesmerized by the stone idol of the Goddess inside the sanctum sanctorum. In the semi-dark sanctum, a ray of light fell on the face of the deity, and suddenly the nose ring that adorned her shone brilliantly, illuminating her face.

The eyes of the deity shone with a divine lustre in the light reflected by the diamond-studded nose ring, and tears rolled down our faces, tears of pure bliss. Such is the effect of Devi Kanyakumari, at the Bhagavathy Amman Temple, Kanyakumari.

One can only imagine the effect that the Kanyakumari Temple and the Goddess Kanya Kumari (Virgin Goddess), must have had on the great Swami Vivekananda in the year 1892, when he visited and meditated at the temple, before swimming to the rock, now known as Vivekananda Rock Memorial.

As usual, people are not allowed in their usual dress like other temples in south India. I just hate this part.
They want us to come vare chest and lungi in front of ladies and specially in this temple which belongs to Kumari Kanya.
There is forced fees at the entry and when you ask why are you taking it then they say it's volunteer fees for Mantainenece. I mean I just don't understand if they do have money for maintaining this temple. Really, govt is not giving them any grants or they have no wealth inside or people do not donate.
I find it waste but religiously I found it good. See God is equal for every one, poor or rich, young or old, make it female. But these useless pandits there are greedy.
