The temple is originally believed to have been built by the Pallavas during the 8th century. There are inscriptions dating back to the later half of the 9th century Pallava dynasty reign here. According to researchers th temple is around 5000 years old. One of the divine place to visit.

This is one of the oldest temples. We went on Saturday so the crowd was huge. They had a very long queue for free Darshan and there was a special Darshan queue too which cost 120 per head. The main issue is the parking space unavailability. There is no proper guidance on where to park the car. It was a one way road where the cars are parked right in the Temple pond shore.

You can see the god almost 3 feet away. You never get an opportunity to go so close. But there is huge queue on Saturdays.

A devine and blissful experience...a huge idol of Perumal lying and stretching his right hand out... There are other temples too within the same temple premises. And, a huge temple pond just next to the temple.
