The sanctum sanctorum is aesthetically formed in a round shape with the divine serpent Aadisesha on the lotus petals. Sri Perumal graces on Aadisesha with His consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi. Lord appears as if a king readying for a hunting with His crown and wearing ornaments in legs, hip and chest. He carries the weapons necessary for the sport. The temple was built by Sivaganga Zamin Sundara Pandian in 17th century. He was a staunch devotee of Azhagarkoil and Tirukoshtiyur Lords-Perumals. He wanted to integrate the Pancharatra and Vaikanasa Agamas and conduct the pujas in the temple accordingly.
