One of the oldest functioning historical temple in Pudukkottai town. Visiting for the first time, was impressed by the architecture and the ambiance of temple.
It is maintained by TNHRCE dept, needs more maintenance as the temple premises looks bit dirty.

The entire temple is constructed inside a rock cave,so it looks beautiful which has a connection with Pudukkottai kingdom- The Thondaimaan Family

Some deities are present in the rock cave which is worth visiting.
The sculptures are well sculpted and gives a great experience.
The Amman here has another name which is Araikaasu Amman which is quite popular among localities.Shivan and lingam looks great.Murugan is located in top of rock.
Overall a must visit temple for exploring the beauty and architecture of this temple.

Car parking is little bit difficult as the temple lies in roadside, car can be parked in th crosscut roads.

A quite little “actually big “ temple in the pudukottai city, some 120 km from Madurai. The temple is in the old form where the “sannathi “ sanctum Santorum is facing east but the Entrance is not from the east. The belief is that if you loose something anywhere, she will find it for you. Also there is a huge Lingam and huge vinayagar. You can access the temple upper floor close to the vimanam, Via stairs.
The temple is built in a rock formation , which is used to prop the pillars and also has a small pond in the upper levels of the temple - the rock has formed a natural reservoir. Neatly maintained and well established.
