Agastheeswarar Temple

Very old temple. Not well known to every one. Dakshinammorthy is said to be worshipped for education improvements. Temple pond is not well-maintained.

A temple with lots of positive vibes, located in a calm and quiet area, nearby ambience is nice, they had placed all the major sidhar's pics on the temple walls.

A Chola era Shiva Temple which goes unnoticed as situated in centre of velipalaiyam, Nagapattinam. Approach roads are very narrow, 15 cars can be parked near the temple, Temple Tank not at all maintained. Still the natives of Velippalayam are attached to this temple because of which it's still runs. Zero marks to Endowment board who don't even care to maintain this temple. Do visit this temple when in Nagapattinam.

The Siva temple is situated in Velipalayam of Nagapattinam. The presiding Deity is Sri Agastheeswarar wth Goddess Sri Anandavalli Ambal. Other deities Sri Somaskandar, Sri Natarajar and other deities inside the artha mandapam in separate sannidhis. In 'prahaaram' Sri.Vinayagar, Sri Dhanshinamurthi Sri Subramaniyar with Valli Devasena, Si Mahalakshmi Sri Lingothpavar Sri Durgai Amman, Sri Chandikeshwarar have their separate sannidhis. In front separate sannidhi for Sri Saneeswarar and Navagraha opposite to it. Sri Chandrar Sri Suryar Sri Bhairavar are in the north east. There is Flag mast (Kodi Maram) Nandhi and Bali Peedam are there in the entry portion. This temple is much visited by devotees daily. All festivals are held here.
There is a Tank (THIRUKKULAM) opposite to the temple used by the public for community purposes.
