Karni Mata Temple, Udaipur

Shri Manshapurna Karni Mata Temple is a Hindu temple located on the Machla Magra Hills, near the Doodh Talai Lake in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It enshrines the stone idol of Karni Mata. One can have very beautiful view of whole city and its lakes from the temple as well as while climbing. The walk is pollution-free as no vehicles can enter in the hill boundary.

One can reach the temple via stairs as well as via ropeway. But I would suggest going by ropeway as you can capture amazing view of the city. The ticket of ropeway is 120rs approx per person for 2way which is very much affordable. The 5-7 mins of ride gives amazing experience and shows aerial view of the city and beautiful sunset.

One of the best places to visit in Udaipur and even better if you come in the early morning or evening show that you can witness sunrise and sunset. The Hike up the mountain is not a tough one but it sure takes time to climb so ropeway is also available with charges around 50 rupees per person to take you up or rs 100 for round trip .

The karni mata temple is situated on the top of the mountain and we can reach there through ropeway or by walking. The view from the top is amazing and during sunset it becomes so beautiful to watch the scene. We can see the whole city and specially the pichola lake and the city Palace.

Karni mata temple is located on top of hill with ropeway option to reach there. We weren't aware of rope way so it was pleasant surprise for kids. Early morning there was no queue and we immediately got the ropeway, while coming back we saw huge rush and queue.

You get a great view from the top. You can see both the old and new part of Udaipur city. From here you get lovely view of Jagmandir in middle of Pichola Lake and can also see city Palace and all surrounding areas from top. We were thinking we get to see lots of rats roaming around in the temple, but we could find only few locked up in cage. Came to know there is actually another temple in Bikaner where there are huge number of rats roaming openly.

Ropeway was great experience for kids and also do visit the 3D museum near ropeway entrance if you want to take few good and fun photos.

Best place for the sunset and sunrise view. Try ropeway for the best view of the city and lake. This will charge you only ₹150. Enjoy the darshan of karni mata and wait for sunset there. There are some food joints also available.

It's a old and beautiful temple on a hill overlooking the Pichola lake. There's a rope way to go to top which costs around ₹ 200 per person for both ways. For those who wish to climb there's steps but it would be a bit tedious. The temple is beautiful and the view from top especially in the evening during sun set is great. It's worth visiting in the evening.

Beautiful temple at hill top. Can be visited by stairs but instead choose ropeway. Temple is getting renovated. Lovely views of Udaipur from top. Best for sunset views. And return down only after watching the lighted Udaipur. It is awesome.
