JAY JAGANNATH! The enchanting temple situated at Bada Bazaar of Baripada is a very great Hindu temple of Lord Jagannath existing from 12th Century CE. It is among the oldest temples in Odisha. Very nice temple to visit. Have area for sitting inside the 'Mandapa' of the temple. Ratha Yatra is held every year and a big fair also helds for some days. People from various places come to visit the temple. Also this temple is often called as the 'Second Shrikhetra' of Odisha. Three Chariots are taken out during Rath Yatra. The chariot of lord Subhadra is pulled by women which is the unique one in the whole Odisha. I love this temple very much and have often used to visit the temple.

The most important things is that in Ratha Yatra festival Maa Subhadra cart is pull by women devotees only .No men is allowed to pull it .

Nice place with peace and cool environment. Some stone works are in process in temple surroundings .
Very easy way to reach there . One can go by private vehicles or through auto or buses . But parking will be a concern in special days. The speciality about the car festival is ladies or womens are given the priority to to pull Maa Suvadra Rath.

This 16th century temple was built by King Baidyanath Bhanj of the Bhanj dynasty. He was a disciple of the great Acharya Rasikananda Deb Goswami of Gaudiya Vaishnava sampradaya. So naturally this temple has a Gaudiya Vaishnava temple style mixed with traditional Odia Vaishnava architectural design.
