The temple is dedicated to Ram Krishna Paramhans, the Spiritual Indian Guru of pre- independent India and the teacher of Swami Vivekananda. It's part of worldwide chain of temples controlled by Ram Krishna Paramhans Trust, the originator of ISKON.
This temple was established during pre-1971 when the Bangladesh did not come in existence. The priest is an 82 years old named Uttam Sarkar, a native of erstwhile East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and remained here. He hasn't met with any of his relatives post 1971 and stays unmarried. He is assisted by local dwellers in managing the temple and also a primary school for children being run by the very trust and co-located in the premises. A noble job of providing education of local children in this border block is being executed with utmost devotion here.
