I don't know the history. Appears to be pretty old. Should have been taken good care of by Government of Maharashtra. There is no washroom. No clean drinking water supply. No clean hotel within the campus or nearby. Cleanliness is deplorable. Dogs sleep within the temple. Be careful.
Just across the road is 109 TA Mahadeo Mandir. Fabulously kept.

This is a good place to visit and hangout with your family 👪 and friends 😃 😄. The premise is having Tembalai Temples, which is having beautiful carved temples. This place is also have big Ganapati murti 🙏 approximately 30 feets in height. This place have sitting arrangement all around from which you can have a good view of the Kolhapur city, especially Pune Bangalore highway areas. This place is usually crowded throughout the year and you can also have good snakes stalls all around. 😊

Temblai hill is one of the famous spots in Kolhapur. The Temblai temple is located on Temblai hill, which is dedicated to Goddess ‘Temblai’ or ‘Tramboli’. The Goddess ‘Temblai’ is the sister of Goddess Mahalakshmi. According to hindu mythology Goddess Temlabai helped Goddess Mahalakshmi to fight the demons. But after the victory Goddess Mahalakshmi failed to pay respects to Goddess Temlabai and ignored her and this angered her and so she settled on the hill. The face of Temblai idol is exactly in the opposite direction to the face of Mahalaxmi idol. The idol has four hands and the idol is made of black stone. Every year during the Navratri festival a one day celebration known as "Tramboli Yatra" takes place here.
There is another small temple situated on this hill, which is dedicated to Goddess Yamaidevi. Also a huge Idol of "Lord Ganpati" is situated at the centre of the hill; a small garden and beautiful walkway is developed around it. A number of local people come here in the morning or in the evening for walking.
Do visit to this temple, you will like it. In the early morning, you can see beautiful Sunrise from here.
