Famous Ganesha temple in Satara. Gram / Kul Daiwat of many satarkar. The idol is monolithic. The surrounding of this temple definitely needs improvement in terms of cleanliness. Idol earlier had a natural stone look but someone has painted it orange taking out the grand and old feeling out.

Dholya Ganapati is the resident diety of Satara in Maharashtra. It is a very old temple. Its local temple. But actual dholya ganapati temple which is located at wai. So don't confuse. Famous dholya temple located at wai not in satara...its a local temple.Famous Ganesha temple in Satara. Gram / Kul Daiwat of many satarkar. The idol is monolithic. The surrounding of this temple definitely needs improvement in terms of cleanliness. Idol earlier had a natural stone look but someone has painted it orange taking out the grand and old feeling out.

It is the gram devat of satara. Every one in satara should visit this temple atleast once. It's not crowded generally but can't say in ganpati festivals like chathurthi . It's 5 km from bus stand.
