Very close to Mahakal Temple , on the adjacent street . Other than the huge Ganesha idol , there are also alters to other gods and goddesses , some of them locked behind grille doors .

As the name suggests a big idol of Lord Ganesha is places here which is Close to the entrance of Mahakaleswar Temple. The General Queue to the Temple starts from here after taking Blessing from Ganesh ji.

Sri Bade Ganesh Ji Ka Mandir is one of the most popular religious places in Ujjain. The most iconic thing about the temple is the massive artistic sculpture of Ganesha - the Lord of wisdom and prosperity - that adorns its premises. It is said that this Ganesh idol was established by Maharishi Guru Maharaj Siddhant Vagesh Pt. Narayan Ji Vyas.

The Ganesh idol at the Bade Ganesh Ji ka Mandir is about 18 feet high and 10 feet wide and the trunk of Lord Ganesh in this statue is clockwise. There are a trident and swastika on the head of the statue. A Ladoo is pressed into the trunk rotating to the right. Lord Ganesh has huge ears, a garland around the neck. There is also a beautiful statue of Panchmukhi Hanuman in the center of the temple and is said that this idol was established even before the establishment of Bade Ganesh.

This deity is considered auspicious by the local people and thousands of devotees coming from far-off places to get a glimpse of Lord Ganesh as it is believed that the wish made in front of this deity is fulfilled in no time. In the premises of the temple, devotees can learn Sanskrit and astrology, which have been arranged by the temple authorities.

A few steps away from the VIP entrance to Shri Mahakaleshwar stands this temple where one big statue of Lord Ganeshji is विराजमान | One can also pray to other देवी-देवताओं housed inside the temple including Lord Narashima [ नरसिंह ], the fourth avatar of Lord Vishnu.

Ganesh must be worshipped before all else all poojas are not considered. So before you take darshan of mahakaaleshwar, visit bada ganesh and then go to kalbhairav temple as he is the gatekeeper.

Bada ganesh is just opposite of mahakaal entry. Very peaceful place and inside there is a version of Hanuman i have never seen anywhere else.

This is a small but precious temple in Ujjain in from of Mahakaleshwar temple. There is a big statue of Shri Lord Ganesh 🙏 and there are some more lords statues. Near to Shri bada Ganesh mandir there is Garbha Greh jal Abhishek ticket counter. From there you can buy tickets for Jal Abhishek in the morning between 6am to 12pm. They’ll give you one hour slot to do whole process of Jal Abhishek if by chance you mess up and left to complete Jal Abhishek in given time then you won’t able to use those tickets.

Nice temple and Ujjain biggest ganesh temple, but known one aware for mask and social distancing, hug amount people are enter temple without mask ,but temple is awesome... one time visiting
