Very nice ancient Shiva Temple at Alirajpur.
The temple was built by the Parmar rulers who ruled Malwa from 10th to 13th century.

Wow, what a temple it would have been. It's great to witness such finesse with sculpture, stone carvings and architecture at this place. Though the restoration work done here is exact opposite of marvellous workmanship of yore. Unfortunately in the country of ours they prefer to build a massively filthy 30000 million statue instead of properly taking care of these cultural marvels. Hope someday some good leaders and authority would care for it.

A 12th century Shiva temple with exquisite stone carvings and an imposing 120-foot high shikhar (top) lies in neglect at Malwai village, about 215 kilometres from Indore.

And the point of worry is that the state archaeology department has no immediate plans to restore it and project it as a major heritage site of western Madhya Pradesh.

Architectural Importance. But the government is not paying attention on its situation. Plant grows on it and there is no description of the temple as this is an ancient monument state government and state tourism should give importance to it.

If you are going to visit Statue Of Unity via Alirajpur, please stay for a while and see this awesome architecture. It's a 12th century Shiva temple with beutiful stone carvings with 100 + foot high shikhar which has carved images of Hindu deities and floral designs. The temple was built by the Parmar rulers who were shaivaites by faith and loved to build intricate carved-stone temples across western Malwa. This temple is made of yellow sand stone. One more information of interest that It's located on the ancient trade route which was used by the traders and the tourists from north India to reach Gujarat.
