Ivarmadom Krishna Temple

Ivormadom temple is located near the banks of river Nila and is famous to perform ceremonial rites and rituals by hindus for departed souls of their beloveds to acquire Moksha(Mukthi) .

On 8 th of this month i visited here for Pindom rituals of my mother. This temple situated in the river side of bharatha puzha. The main idol is Sri mahavishnu with upadevathas. Pancha pandavas done the sradha karma here and this place is famous for udaka kriya and andu bali for our ancestors.
We have completed our kriya at 12 noon and taken food from here.

The legends says that this (Ivor Madom) is the place where Pandavas, after Kurukshetra war, got relief from their mental agony by doing prayers and Bali Tarpanas for their Gurujis and cousins who were killed by them in the war. Bharathapuzha is believed to have cleansed them of all their sins and restored their mental strength. 'Ivor' literally means 'five people' in Malayalam, and thus the temple came to be known as Ivor Madom after the five Pandavas. Even now, hundreds of people come to Ivor Madom Sree Krishna temple and do the last rites and Bali Tarpanam to those departed souls dear to them.

The temple and maintenance was too good, we visited the BharathaPuzha for the last rituals everything was neat and fine - the water body is less while compared to the olden days.

Exactly at the entrance of the temple there will be a so called hotel, just opposite to the parking ground - for god's sake please never visit that hotel to return home with happiness and divine mode.

Their food quality is too bad, servicing and customer handling is very bad and finally the price will be equal to a star hotel which is not even worthy of what we get ! Please beware of them alone.

Well built temple and well organised for rituals though the cost is racing very high much more then the inflation

The place has lodging facilities with 10+ rooms available at around ₹600 per day. There is a small eatery outside where you can get breakfast and lunch (not supper) but not things like room service.

An absolutely divine place.
We stayed at the motel managed by their administration to perform the last rites of our relative. Such a holy place at the riverbank. The temple has a great history and the pujaris are one of the most helpful people who explained the reasons for each step in Puja and clearly recited the mantras.
Administration is quite cordial and warm in treating the pilgrims.

Ivormadom is believed to be one of the sacred places to do Pithrutharpan(Rituals for ancestors). There are pandits available for guiding people to perform rituals. Tickets for Tharpan is available at Sreekrishna temple Counter. Stay and Lodging facilities are also available at the temple. Thilaka homam a pooja for the Moksha of Parethathma are performed in the Temple upon booking.
