th century. It has 4 entrances.I felt Devi's presence very strong inside!!!
This is a sacred pilgrimage place , visit on the outskirts is worth if you are devotional or interested in ancient Indian Temple Arts. Puja is performed on a daily basis by the priests. One of the best time to visit is during Painguni Maholsavam, but be ready to be a part of the large crowd on the special occasion. The carving and the painting is awesome!! Very colourful. Wish they can somehow protect it from pigeons!!
This temple is a hidden gem & must be visited when in Kerala.
The Goddess Durga is the main deity in this temple. One important aspect of the temple is that, the deity appears as 'Durgabhagavathi' which is an avatar of 'AdiParasakthi'. 'Karthika' is considered as the star of the deity.
A kavu (small forest patch) which houses the serpent Gods is common in Travancore. The pond in front of the temple gives a beautiful reflection of it.
It is about 1.8 kilometres to the southwest of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram city, Irumkulangara Road, Manacaud, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
