Annual temple festival usually falls in the months of Feb&March.
Thiruvathira and Lakshadeepam in the month of Dhanu (malayalam calender) is also an attraction here.

I have been visiting the Sree Mahadev Temple for a few years now and it is always a peaceful, calming experience. The atmosphere inside the temple is powerful and quiet, with no distractions or loud noises. I always leave feeling uplifted and re-energized. A major temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Calm atmosphere giving mental peace to the devotees. A temple one should visit at least once.

Very good ambiance with greenery, have a pond. Vehicles can also be parked at the back side of the temple with more parking area. Very calm and spiritualized environment for praying. Only 1km from kollam bypass bus and auto rickshaws were also available within 100 m.

Such a powerful deity of Sree Mahadeva. Peaceful atmosphere. A big pond is there. Usually festival is in the month of kumbham( February -March ). Thiruvathira is the nakshthra for celebrating festival in this month. Sarpakkav and lord ayyappa is also there. In order to enter into Sreekovil, we have to climb down many steps. Above is sreekrishna swamy temple in front of which marriages are done. There is a big auditorium for having food.

Oh my word...this place is just the right place to ease your tension...it brings in a lot of positivity...I would suggest visiting the temple between 5 and 6 PM in the evening.
