This main temple name is "Sri Aprameya Swamy Temple" but in side this temple one of the idol is "Ambegalu Krishna " which is also famous,
so few people call this temple as Ambegalu Krishna temple

A peaceful and calming 600 year old temple of vishnu lakshmi and unique Krishna as crawling baby holding butter in hands. Definitely must visit when traveling from bangalore to mysore.

Krishna Temple.....Located right after Channapatna (on the way to Mysore).......Famous for idol which shows - Krishna as small baby crawling with the help of his Hand & knees.....Idol is very pretty & beautiful...... Photography Strictly prohibited, Priest here is very particular about this......Strong belief that wishing for a kid at this temple becomes true.......Very Old Temple and peaceful......gets crowded on weekends or Holidays......Post COVID, not sure when the Prasad meals are offered at this Temple....this was my 2nd time, no Prasad........first time, I had visited a few years ago & had food at temple prasadam.......closes at 1.30 PM & reopens at 4.00 PM each day.

There is also a small Hanuman temple beside this temple......One Iyengar Mess outside temple for folks who like to spend some time here.

Children will love all the Toys at nearby shops and one can shop at Channapatna as well.

Very nice and ancient temple .Must visit .Married couple without kids can visit here and wish for the same. They have a saying that wish gets fulfilled here for the same if the lord aprameya is worshipped with full devotion. The temple also houses the Ambegalu (Crawling) Krishna Temple and the Rama Temple. This temple is rich in history and stories from the past. The temple is believed to be 1000+ years old. It is believed to be built and expanded by Chola King Rajendra Simha. It is said that the temple is standing on sand rather than a strong foundation.Ample parking space. On Saturday and Sunday's only they have a meals as a prasadam served by around 12.30 to 1 PM for devotees.Feel blessed to visit here and see our rich heritage.

One and Only Holy temple Dedicated To Lord Sri Krishna in ubiquitous form "A Baby Crawling With Butter In Hand"..!!!

You cannot find this kind of temple else where in India.

I don't know why this is classified as a museum, as it is certainly a living temple.

This temple is also called the Aprameya Swamy temple and is near Channapatna. The tall rajagopuram is visible from the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway.

The Ambegalu Krishna name comes from the fact that there is a shrine dedicated to crawling child Krishna, which attracts childless devotees whereas the main shrine is dedicated to Lord Aprameya and consort Aravindavalli. The main idol is made of saligrama stone and is said to be over 1500 years old.

There is a Purandaradasa mantapa here and it is said that the renowned sage-composer actually composed his krithi - Jagadhodharana here.

Many fascinating stories abound about this temple.

In recent times, the area outside the temple (set in a sleepy village) has become increasingly commercial and there are now stalls selling not just articles for pooja, but also Channapatna toys, wall hangings and pictures of Ambegalu Krishna.

There is also an Amrutha Iyengar Mess and Condiments shop diagonally opposite the rajagopuram which sell all kinds of Iyengar condiments and snacks. We have enjoyed some of these.
