so few people call this temple as Ambegalu Krishna temple
There is also a small Hanuman temple beside this temple......One Iyengar Mess outside temple for folks who like to spend some time here.
Children will love all the Toys at nearby shops and one can shop at Channapatna as well.
You cannot find this kind of temple else where in India.
This temple is also called the Aprameya Swamy temple and is near Channapatna. The tall rajagopuram is visible from the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway.
The Ambegalu Krishna name comes from the fact that there is a shrine dedicated to crawling child Krishna, which attracts childless devotees whereas the main shrine is dedicated to Lord Aprameya and consort Aravindavalli. The main idol is made of saligrama stone and is said to be over 1500 years old.
There is a Purandaradasa mantapa here and it is said that the renowned sage-composer actually composed his krithi - Jagadhodharana here.
Many fascinating stories abound about this temple.
In recent times, the area outside the temple (set in a sleepy village) has become increasingly commercial and there are now stalls selling not just articles for pooja, but also Channapatna toys, wall hangings and pictures of Ambegalu Krishna.
There is also an Amrutha Iyengar Mess and Condiments shop diagonally opposite the rajagopuram which sell all kinds of Iyengar condiments and snacks. We have enjoyed some of these.
I love this place ♥️. This place such a Awesome and peaceful .
