Amazing temple, located in a quiet place. The architecture surprisingly is great. Little did I expect the temple to be this good as our visit here was unplanned and the temple was sort of a filler while visiting other places around.
I am glad we visited the temple, though not sure of the history of the temple, looks like it's a very old/ancient one.
Lord Garuda, Lord Vishnu's vahan welcomes you as you enter the temple area. As you park your vehicle, you will witness the huge, magnificent gopuram (Temple entrance). As you enter the temple, you find tall statues of Lord Hunuman and Lord Garuda facing the main temple or Lord Ranganatha himself. As you make your way inside the temple, you will go through the magnificent pillars with such wonderful carvings transcending you to a totally new place/world.
The main diety is Lord Ranganatha Swamy and the idol is so mesmerizing that you cannot take your eyes of him.
Definitely a must visit when you visit Chikkaballapur.

Ranganatha Swamy temple is one of the least known temples in the ears of the City people. It is a serene and beautiful temple, located just 3 Kms from Chikkaballapura. The architecture here is from Vijayanagar style and its ruins can still be seen. The kalyani outside, the Gopuram, the temple, the idol and the entrances are worth noticing atleast twice.

Visited month: Nov 2022

Place is ~70km away from Bangalore and bottom of Skandagiri. 7-8km away from Chikkaballapur.
Temple is very old temple and you can feel positive vibes once u enter the temple and surrounded by flower gardens and near by there is a huge lake too.

Huge Gopuram for the temple and Lord Ranganatha at sanctum center with Neela and Boodevi surrounded with Bramha, rudra and data dikpalakaru.
Devotes can go around sanctum center and can see the science behind the sanctum center for sun rays.

Parking is not an issue and road to temple is good.

Note: lot of monkeys and can attack to get items if you are carrying bags and be careful of your parking slot to avoid damages from monkeys.

One of the finest and ancient temple near to Chikkaballapur dedicated to Lord Ranganatha Swamy (Lord Vishnu), where you can see Lord Vishnu in Anant Sayan vesa/avatar. Just be aware of monkeys. I saw them entering into passenger cars. 😄

Serene. Clam. Quite. Bless ful place. Sri ranganatha Swamy is in sleeping position here. Beautiful to just stand and devote yourself. This place is surrounded by trees and have ground in front. Also has a pond nearby.
Photogenic place.
Be aware of monkeys. There are lots in this place .
If you just go around the temple you can explore much more.

This is one of the oldest temples in Bangalore. Rangasthala is a wonderful example of art, the architecture will take you to the time gone by and the ruins of the place include the beauty of the place. A lot of the old architectures are overlapped with the new construction. But, the temple still wonderfully protects Sri Ranganatha Swamy of Ranganatha. The place is great for day trips.

he idols of lord Ranganatha at Rangastla, Srirangam and Srirangapatna were installed on same day and same time. The temple architecture is in Vijayanagar style. The Gopuram outside the temple was built by Vijayanagara Kings.

Looking for a day trip it’s a best place to chill
Recommend time morning or evening
Beware of monkeys 🙈

Ancient beautiful and peaceful temple located near Chikkaballapura. Very clam and clean place. Need few improvements on facilities. It is such a beautiful temple but it is being ignored.

Here is beautiful pics of the temple.
