Bhalki was also called Bahulingeshwar( Bahuguni) because there were 12 Shivling in Bhalki, out of which one Shivling is present in this temple. For example, Shivling like Sangameshwara, Khadkeshwara, Bhalakeshwara are situated. Those temples were broken by the invaders, so whatever the old temple is, their architecture was damaged. The architectural account of the gatekeepers of this temple is identical to that of Basavanna Bhagyavadi Temple.
