Fantastic temple of Hoysala architecture. The place is well protected by ASI and is very well maintained. Puja is still performed in this temple. There are lot of carvings on the temple which depict stories from Ramayana, Mahabharata and other interesting stories.
This is a trikuta temple. Trikuta means 3 deities. As you can see in the image, every deity has a gopura above it. I would definitely recommend visiting this place. Do spend quite a time looking at and understanding the architecture and sculptures on the temple.

About 2.5 hours from Bangalore (Towards Bangalore-Mangalore highway)- one can plan for one day trip from Bangalore covering other religious place- built with Hoysala architecture

Nice place to visit on the way to shravanbelagola or hassan. Smaller in architecture compared to hoysala temple. Road which lead to the temple is narrow. Not much crowded as very less people know about it. Its dark from inside. It has a well as well inside the temple. Nice carvings on the ceiling of the temple

Stop looking at reviews, videos or pictures. If you’re in this side of the state, pack your bags, plan & leave early on the day so you get to spend some quality time in the temple rather than driving whole day.

One of the most powerful & peaceful experience you’d ever come across within the proximity of the temple. Sit down & relax to see how it is to experience a calm & powerful vibe & to realise how wonderful our culture itself is as a whole. Even though we must avoid taking pictures of these holy places, it’s literally irresistible.

The temple has some eclectic wall carvings adorning the wall. It’s hard to put it in words how they must’ve built this, anyone explaining the details of the temple can only be a 3000 year old yogi who’s reborn in this era. Must visit to see how beautiful the temple is.

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple Nuggehalli is one of the architectural beauty of Hoysala Architecture. Carvings at its best. Very less known temple and very less visited monumental beauty. A must visit temple. The carvings are from sand stone and three dimensional. The roof top carvings are amazing wonder. One cannot imagine how 1000 years ago the architect is able carve so intricate and perfect.

Amazing Hoysala period architecture. Mesmerizing sculptures. It's a hidden gem, off Bengaluru to Mangalore highway NH75. Just 130 kms from Bengaluru.

Still unknown to the picnic crowd, so enjoy this serene and divine temple.

Nice place for a weekend visit. If you appreciate Hoysala architecture, this temple is a must-see. Ignored by tourists, this place is visited only by locals, and is usually deserted even on weekends. It's better to call the priest, Shri Rama Bhat, before visiting. And do not forget to get an archana or pooja done, and offer a good dakshina to the priest and a decent tip to the attender, Shivanna.

Please note that videography is no longer allowed, and photography inside the sanctum is forbidden. The outside walls are packed with exquisite carvings and can be photographed. The attender will follow you to ensure that you do not shoot videos.

This is a living temple and in daily use by the locals, so please respect their sentiments, and follow the rules.

130km from Bangalore, three hours drive once you hit the highway. The highway is in good condition. Better to carry bottled water and snacks. I would not recommend any of the hotels on the route. Food is too spicy and much more expensive than Bangalore.

Cheers ....
