The Lakshminarasimha temple at Haranhalli, sometimes referred to as Lakshmi Narasimha temple of Haranhalli, is one of two major historic Hindu temples that have survived in Haranhalli, Karnataka, India. The place is 45km from Belur; A very small town/village. This is a beautiful temple with very beautiful Krishna and Narsimha/Lakshmi Idols inside. Little les maintained. If you find the temple close then there is a phone number on the main gate, you can all the number and priest can come by and open it for you. A must visit place.

This very beautiful Hoysala temple built in 1230 by three wealthy brothers,is said to be of vesara style architecture . It is richly covered with lovely sculptures of deities, animals and scroll work and the interior has intricately carved pillars and ceiling slabs . The signatures of the sculptors can be seen below many sculptures . Lakshminarasimha , Venugopala and Kesava are the presiding deities of the trikuta . The fresh green garden surrounding the temple gives the place a lot of serenity . The priest and the watchman were very kind and helpful. 35Kms from Halebid, the temple is worth visiting.

Haranhalli Temple is a small compact temple which displays the 24 names Idols of Lord Krishna
Starting from Keshavaya Namah and ending with Krishnaya Namah
Alongwith some other well sculpted Idols of Mahabharata scene
Mallitamma the famous sculptor has created most of the Idols here and his name can be seen scribbled across the Idols.
The ceiling is very elaborate and even the main diety statue is unique.

Pls call on given number before going to this place. This will be closed due to COVID. It is very clear and maintained very well. We actually feel ancient temple feel. If u call on given number will come and open the temple for visiting. They also offer pooja. They treat very well. I liked the location, cleanliness, temple architecture, it was built almost 1200 years ago . It has script for last 1000 years.

If you like ancient architecture, Hindu culture, peace of mind or just want to enjoy some safe and quiet far from maddening crowds, this is a great place to spend a day.
This is a protected monument, not an active & happening place of worship. You may find govt guides who will clear your doubts, but no poojari ; you have to do your own pooja (at least until the covid situation improves)
If you like the experience, you don't have to stop with one ! There are half a dozen (or more) such sites within comfortable riding distance, so be sure to visit as many as you can because they are all subtly different?
